Standard Poodle Temperament

The Standard Poodle is proud, elegant, dignified and good-natured. These Dogs are highly intelligent and are one of the most trainable breeds. They are pleasant, happy and sensitive. The Standard Poodle tends to be a bit calmer then the smaller variety of poodles. They need to be with people and dislike being alone. for the most part they are generally friendly towards strangers, and are excellent with children. The Standard Poodle is good with other dogs. Some Standards are good guard dogs and some can be trained as hunters.

Standard Poodles carry themselves proudly, they have an air of distinction and dignity.

Our poodle for stud Baron, certainly has the sweetest temperament of any standard poodle that we know!


Standard Poodle General Information

The Standard Poodle is over 15 inches at the highest point of the shoulders. They have a straightforward trot with light springy action and strong hindquarters drive. Head and tail carried up.

Life expectancy is 12-15 years or more.
